I would like her to be remembered for her strength and everything that she endured in her short life. Married as a young teen in the hills of Appalachia to an abusive man, giving birth to at least 9 children, losing at least two children in a fire. Struggling to survive with her children in a shack in Indianapolis, no food or heat, and eventually succumbing to Tuberculosis at the age of 32. Margaret was buried at the poor farm cemetery, and all of her children were separated and sent to different orphanages. It is my wish that she be remembered, her life was not in vain.
